Frantic Fire

Fire is so mesmerizing, it's so hot
The dry logs produce heat instead of rot
The fire consumes all their mass and then unites
Their energy becomes a focused unity so strong it inspires fright
Does the fire have boundaries will it go out
Will it spread uncontrolled, will it destroy throughout?
The fire glows its gold, red and blue
Each ember sparkles with its own unique hue
The flames seem to squeal indeed even to speak
Espousing the message of pure energy, this wood will no longer creak
Because it has transformed its very being into energy
This is a lesson to learn from for both you and me
To transform your soul into an energy so strong
That it harnesses your body to a spirit so long
The energy can be constant and contained
Depending if you excercise a little self restraint.
Otherwise the flames will grow out of control
Your limbs will shake, your eyes will roll
Will you be able to reel in this power inside you
Will you learn to steer the fear that denies you
The ultimate pleasure of the truer being
The one deep inside you who loves the singing
Of the hissing flames that sparkle and crackle
When two teams cooperate there's no challenege they can't tackle
Their flames reach, even jump, upon high
Is there any reason why you and I
Should not take a cue from the daringly real
Powerful energy whose heat you can feel
We can become our own energy source
Within the context we are created in of course
But I say looking at this bonfire
compels me to ponder and honestly inquire
Why are my thoughts and actions, my very being not aimed higher?

ode to peter pan

The joy of carefree
The joy of fun
As light as a bee
As light as the sun
To jump and fly and play with singing
To celebrate a life that's always beginning
Toys and smiles and games
With ploys and trials and brains
Garner a person towards succulent success
Garnished, not tainted, with a tint of largesse
Do we invite do we suggest
The important inquiry, the rampant request
Of the imaginative, ever curious child
Whose dreams wander about like a fawn wild
What shall I be today
where o ever shall I go
I am a boat in the bay,
a farmer with his hoe
Today I shall explore
tomorrow -- I don't know.

A beautiful view

A beautiful view
Reminds me of you
This beauty and subtlety
Outdoes the most exquisite cup of tea
One after another
One mountain rises and another falls
After each theres more to discover
At the end of it all
The vision continues unending
Does it end with views or is it sending
me, beckoning me to another realm
Where peace reigns with otherworldly calm
Where quiet and truth reign supreme
Under the obvious care of the only real Me
Can I have it now? I will find my way
The only question is tomorrow, or today?
I need help I need a guide
Please direct me gently like the tide
That flows so sweetly to its home
A place where I'll know I'm not alone
So in this quiet I sit and pray
and thank You for tomorrow
and every last second of today.
